At the Ohio Hospital Association’s (OHA) annual Recognition Dinner on June 11, 2013, Lisa (Levering) Fuller, MPT, represented Morrow County Hospital as one of the 62 nominees for the 2013 Albert E. Dyckes Health Care Worker of the Year Award, the highest honor awarded by the Association.
According to Mike Abrams, OHA President and CEO, “The highlight of the year is when we can take time to honor and celebrate the outstanding efforts of the people who significantly impact patient care in our hospitals. These extraordinary men and women remind us every day of the importance of quality patient care.”
Lisa and the other nominees were recognized as outstanding caregivers who are great leaders, reflect the values and ideals of Ohio’s healthcare facilities, routinely go above and beyond the call of duty, give back to the community and have overcome odds to success.
As mentioned in Lisa’s nomination…”She is at the top of her class as an expert clinician and genuine champion for her patients and the entire community. Lisa’s commitment to providing coverage in times of staff deficiencies and high patient volumes during 2012 exemplifies her dedication to Morrow County Hospital and her patients. Lisa is ‘all-in’ when it comes to providing musculoskeletal evaluations at free sports physical exams for over 200 local high school students each year, covering sporting events on weekends and evenings, participating in ‘Ask A Therapist’ sessions, initiating back injury screenings and developing a new aquatic strengthening program. Lisa is one in a million! Her motivation, dedication and sensitivity to the needs of others clearly exceed the expectations and requirements of her position.”
Of the 62 nominees, four finalists and one overall winner were announced at the recognition dinner. Bluffton Hospital’s Barbara Plaugher, RN, BSA, M.Ed., was the recipient of this year’s prestigious Health Care Worker of the Year Award. The four finalists of the award were Debra Rech, RN, of Euclid Hospital (Euclid, OH); Jeremy Daugherty, RN, BSN, of Mount Carmel East Hospital (Columbus, OH); Bob Williams, RN, BSN, MBA of Fairfield Medical Center (Lancaster, OH); and Joshua Quinn, The Christ Hospital Health Network (Cincinnati).
