OhioHealth announced leadership changes today that will impact three OhioHealth hospitals: OhioHealth Marion General, Morrow County and OhioHealth Hardin Memorial.
Chris Truax named chief operating officer at Marion General Hospital
Truax joined OhioHealth in 1998 as a member of the Strategic Planning department. For the last three years, he has been president and chief executive officer of Morrow County Hospital, an OhioHealth managed hospital. Bruce Hagen is president at Marion General.
Truax has made a significant impact on physician satisfaction at Morrow by strengthening relationships with members of the medical staff and ensuring that physicians were involved in the development of its strategic plans.
The most recent Physician Engagement Survey places Morrow County Hospital in the 94th percentile ranking in physician satisfaction and strong physician engagement throughout the organization. Under Truax’s leadership, Morrow County Hospital has increased its number of employed primary care physicians and has strategically placed them throughout the county to best serve its patients.
Chad (CJ) Miller named president and CEO of Morrow County Hospital
Miller is currently vice president of Operations at Morrow County Hospital. A certified physical therapist and athletic trainer, Miller joined Morrow County Hospital in 2005 as director of Rehabilitation Services. In 2009 he was promoted to vice president of Ancillary Services and in 2013, moved into the role of vice president of Operations. In this role, he led the development of Morrow County Hospital’s primary care network, recruited key specialists, oversaw facility infrastructure improvement projects and directed the strategic growth and development of outpatient service lines.
Miller was instrumental in working with the community to develop Morrow County Hospital at The Cardinal Center. Located at the intersection of I-71 and State Route 61, the center houses primary care physicians, specialists, radiology, lab, and wellness classes, and serves as a satellite location for hospital services.
Truax and Miller will transition into their new positions on March 1, 2015. Because of OhioHealth’s commitment to succession planning and growing leaders from within, both roles were filled by internal candidates.
Mark Brazitis retires as system vice president for the North Region
Mark Brazitis, whose career spanned more than 30 years, many of which were at OhioHealth,
oversaw strategic development of OhioHealth services in the north region including Hardin, Morrow and Marion counties. Since 2012, he has focused on finding ways to advance integration between OhioHealth’s various care sites in the Marion and a tighter alignment with OhioHealth. His retirement will take effect April 17, 2015.
“Mark has worked tirelessly to facilitate physician engagement, something that is critical to the success of a hospital,” said Cheryl Herbert, senior vice president, Regional Operations. “Under his leadership, the executive teams of the three hospitals – Hardin Memorial Hospital, Marion General Hospital and Morrow County Hospital – are now working together in new ways to extend physician outreach, identify operational efficiencies, and improve continuum of care processes that ultimately improve care in the region.”
