Nursing
Care...
Whether you are a member of our Extended Care Facility (ECF)
family for long-term care or a brief post-hospital stay for
rehabilitation before returning home, Morrow County Hospital's
ECF is unique because...We provide ready
and convenient access for your attending physician.
- We are located
within the hospital which enables you to have all your
healthcare needs met without leaving the building (i.e.,
radiology, laboratory, emergency and outpatient procedures).
- All residents in our
Extended Care Facility receive direct care and supervision
by a team of licensed professional nurses on duty 24-hours a
day.
The experience and
stability of our registered nurses,licensed practical
nurses, and state-tested nursing assistants provide our
residents with the specialized
care they need.
And For Peace Of Mind...
- A physician is
available in our emergency department down the hall 24-hours
a day.
Your
Stay
 During this time when several levels of care may be required,
the same caring staff of nurses, therapists, and technicians
get to know you and your healthcare needs without
interruption.
We strive to constantly
create a comfortable environment for our residents to provide
them with surroundings which reflect the warmth and feeling of
home. Because of our unique location within the
hospital, your physician will be able to conveniently check on
your progress
Your stay in our Extended
Care Facility may be brief, or more extensive, depending on
your needs and wishes. Care management meetings are held
weekly with all professional team members in attendance to
ensure an optimum plan of care for each of our ECF
residents. Every resident is encouraged to be actively
involved in their own plan of care. The team will assist in
developing short-term and long-term goals.
Family members and/or
significant others are also encouraged to attend these team
meetings. It's our philosophy that the family member is an
important part of the resident's recovery.

Enhancing Programs and Activities
Therapy and More...
Many rehabilitation services are available to our ECF
residents. These include: physical, occupational,
speech, and IV therapy along with other skilled nursing and
rehabilitation services, and contracted dental services..
Long Term
Long-Term Care residents, who need our services, can be
admitted directly from their home or may choose to make the
ECF their new home after a short-term stay. Some
transfer to our ECF from other nursing homes.
For many older adults, there
comes the time when their needs can best be met by residing in
our Extended Care Facility -- the next best place to home.
Residents are encouraged to bring some of their favorite
furniture; pictures; and of course, family photos.
Short
Term
Short-Term Care is a service
offered in our Extended Care Facility to respond to the needs
of patients who require several additional days of recovery
time after being discharged from any hospital.
Short-Term Care is a form of
"extending" care for medical and surgical patients.
The patient's physician may have decided that the patient can
be discharged form hospital care, but the patient may still
need rehabilitation services to recover more fully, or be
ready to care for themselves at home.
Our Extended Care
Facility has the staff,
the equipment, and the desire to make
your stay with us as beneficial and
pleasant as possible.
Payment for
Services
The Extended Care Facility accepts virtually all payers
including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance,
industrial, or self-payment. Short-term placements are
billed on the actual length of stay and require no minimum
payment provision. Ongoing billings are on a monthly
basis.
Visiting Hours
Your family and friends are encouraged to visit often and
attend special activities with you.
